Adopt-a-Dune​

The Fort Lauderdale Garden Club contributed $1,500 to the Adopt-A-Dune restoration project.  These funds went toward the restoration of dunes on the oceanfront of Birch State Park. The total amount was paid in increments of $500.00 over a period of three years ending in 2024. ​

​Sand dunes populated with native vegetation act as natural buffers that protect the shoreline and adjacent properties from the effects of sand inundation or erosion, extreme storm events, and sea level rise, several nonprofit organizations have long recognized the importance of restoring dunes as part of protecting the community and beach nourishment projects. ​Adopt-a-Dune​

Garden Therapy​

Garden Therapy is a program inside Coleman Prison that teaches vocational horticulture to inmates with the goal of reduced re-incarceration. ​
