The Fort Lauderdale Garden Club is celebrating its 98th year of growth and community!

The Fort Lauderdale Garden Club is celebrating its 98th year of growth and community! What a beautiful legacy left to us by our membership through the years. We are committed to continuing this legacy! Our theme this year is “Inform, Educate, and Inspire, Leading with Positivity.” We plan to weave this throughout the year through our monthly General meetings, informed presenters, Field Trips, Workshops, Community Outreach projects, and the collective sharing of knowledge, expertise, and kindness to each other.

This year, our General Meetings will be held in the George English Park Recreation Center. We will continue to maintain the gardens and Shade House on the grounds of the Glen F. Bates Garden Center, inside Hugh Taylor Birch State Park.

Come garden and grow with us at the park on the first Monday of each month from 9:30 AM to 12:30 PM. Please submit a volunteer application to Florida State Parks. Once the application process is complete, park admission is waived on days you are volunteering, and you will be issued a volunteer ID and park t-shirt. There is also a great variety of volunteer opportunities available on our Community Outreach tab, on the Volunteer Opportunities menu.

In addition to our monthly General Meetings, our Garden Circles have scheduled a great variety of speakers and activities, including a floral design workshop and field trips to gardens and museums! Our Holiday Luncheon will feature fashions by Chico’s, and The Secret Garden Tour will showcase a stunning array of Fort Lauderdale gardens in February.
