The Fort Lauderdale Garden Club’s objective is to stimulate knowledge and love of gardening, to mentor young gardeners and instill in them the love of gardening and the appreciation for the natural world, and to foster good stewardship and the conservation of natural resources. We do this through monthly programs on these topics, field trips to related points of interest, workshops on horticulture and floral design, hands-on gardening in the shade house and grounds around our Garden Center building, fundraising activities to fund scholarships and campers wishing to attend Wekiva Youth Camp and the SEEK environmental conference, flower shows to highlight our horticultural and floral design skills. ​

Garden Circles ​

Many of our members participate in Garden Circles, smaller groups that meet monthly to enjoy various activities. Each Circle has its president, officers, and committee chairmen, who conduct their fundraising activities to sponsor their civic activities. They meet at various times, at various locations, and pursue interests that appeal to their members.  ​

Circle meetings often feature guest speakers who share their expertise on various gardening topics, provide inspiration, and introduce innovative gardening techniques. In addition to educational sessions, Garden Circles also organize field trips to local gardens or nurseries, allowing members to explore and learn in a hands-on environment. Occasionally, these groups engage in service projects that benefit the community and promote environmental awareness.​

All the Circles work together toward the goals and mission of the Fort Lauderdale Garden Club. Their participation includes the Secret Garden Tour, NGC Standard Flower Show, Youth Gardening programs, maintaining the Garden Center’s grounds and shade house, and Plant Sales. ​
