In collaboration with Broward County Schools, the Fort Lauderdale Garden Club offers students in elementary, middle, and high school the opportunity to learn “hands-on” how to grow plants, value the natural world, and become good stewards of our environmental resources. Youth Gardening Club leaders conduct in-school workshops and teach classes in which students pot and care for a plant or create a floral arrangement that may be entered as an exhibit in their school’s flower show. Students are also encouraged to enter their original education posters, notebooks and journals. ​

​Selected students participating in the Youth Gardening Program are offered scholarships to Wekiva Youth Camp. High school students are chosen to participate in the LIT (Leaders in Training) program which qualifies them for CIT (Counselors in Training) at Wekiva Youth Camp.
